Seit 2001 arbeite ich als Heilpraktikerin in meiner Naturheilpraxis in Holtland in Ostfriesland. Nach anfänglich diversen Therapieformen habe ich mich auf die Blutegeltherapie spezialisiert. Mittlerweile ist unsere Praxis unter dem Motto „Fit durch Blutegel“ weit über die Grenzen von Ostfriesland bekannt und schmerzgeplagte Patienten suchen immer öfter Linderung mit einer Blutegeltherapie. Bei chronischen Beschwerden wird in der Regel 4 bis 5 mal behandelt, bei akuten Beschwerden reichen oft ein bis zwei Behandlungen aus.

Nach Abklingen der Beschwerden sind die meisten Patienten über einen längeren Zeitraum beschwerdefrei und suchen uns erst wieder auf, wenn neue gesundheitliche Probleme auftauchen. Dank der Blutegeltherapie können viele Patienten wieder ein beschwerdefreies Leben führen und oft auf nebenwirkungsreiche Medikamente verzichten.

Wir als Therapeuten sind immer wieder erstaunt, dass mit der Blutegeltherapie die unterschiedlichsten Erkrankungen geheilt oder zumindest die Beschwerden gelindert werden können.

Seit 2006 gibt es die „Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Therapien mit Hirudineen (Blutegel) und ihres Artenschutzes e.V.“ kurz (DGTHA).

Dieser Fachkreis, dem ich als Gründungsmitglied angehöre, hat sich als Ziel gesetzt „die Sicherung der Qualität der Blutegeltherapie durch die Erarbeitung von Ausbildungsrichtlinien für Blutegeltherapeuten und die qualifizierte Schulung und Fortbildung von Blutegeltherapeuten“ zu fördern. Einmal im Jahr findet eine DGTHA Mitgliederversammlung statt, hier werden Erfahrungen ausgetauscht um bestmögliche Behandlungen auch zukünftig garantieren zu können.
